I’m sure you’ve had homemade ketchup in restaurants at least once. It usually comes with hand-cut rosemary & truffle oil fries, stuffed into a crazy container that looks like a damaged slinky. This is way better than that. Doubtless there are quicker recipes for ketchup, but the long, slow […]
Last weekend we again visited beautiful southern Connecticut. My main goal was kayaking round two, but this time without flinging myself into the ocean and dodging crabs. Maybe I should just stay on land from now on.
I supposed this dessert could be called a vegan mousse, since it does not contain eggs. But I don’t think this qualifies as a real mousse, since it is texture is a bit different. And if it’s not quite a Mousse, it might be a Caribou.
That is correct. Chocolate covered pistachio cheesecake bites, rolled in buttered graham cracker. It’s not often that a non-health food finds itself featured on my blog. These little calorie bombs contain exactly zero sprouted alfalfa, and no spinach. In fact, nothing even resembling a vegetable is involved. Its fun to […]

I originally wanted to make Pina Colada Panna Cotta, only because it’s fun to say. I thought I was the first to come up with the combination, until I did a search and discovered I was oh-so-late to the party. (womp, womp.) As I sat pondering my panned panna cotta idea, I […]
It’s sad when you buy a disappointing watermelon. Every now and then, I cut one open and discover a mealy, tasteless inside, nearly devoid of all juice. However, instead of tossing the entire watermelon, I tried another rind experiment. When life gives you lemons, make relish.
I love cucumber, so how could it NOT be great as candy? Ok, there was a small chance of awfulness, but I was willing to risk it. And I’m glad I did! The cucumber did not let me down. I’ve been snacking on these all day.
